ASC, which stands for Academic Service Centers, is a time offered to you during the day to do homework, stay organized, or get caught up on missing work. Teachers will be available during this time to assist you with any questions, concerns, assignments, or projects that you are working on.
If you fall below a C- in a class, you will be assigned to that class during ASC for three weeks. If you have a C- or above, you will be given ASC freedom in which the the gym, game room, and library will be available for you to choose what to do with your time. However, you are still encouraged to use this time to do homework, get caught up, or receive assistance from teachers.
Common ASC Misconceptions - "ASC is only for students who have a C- or below in a class." - "ASC is used to punish students for not doing their work." - "ASC is free time!"
The Truth ASC is not just for some students, used as a form of punishment, or simply free time. ASC helps provide individual academic support and built-in time to do class work for all students. As a middle school staff, we truly want all of you to be successful!
