Mrs. Besselsen has put together a Lunch Bunch Book Club for 6th and 7th graders during lunch. If you're interested, please see Mrs. Besselsen by Friday. You will choose a book together, read it individually and discuss the book together (discussions will be held over 2 or 3 lunch times). You will have 4 opportunities this year to participate. Join 1 or all 4!
Just a reminder that we begin NWEA testing on Monday with exercise led by our own Mr. R. At 8:30, students will go to their first period class for testing. They will remain there until 9:45 at which time they will go to Homerooms to work on your commercial.
The new word on the street is altruistic. It is an adjective that describes a noun. The meaning of altruistic is selfless or generous; in other words, putting others' before oneself. An example sentence is: Helping someone during a difficult situation is an altruistic act of kindness. Remember, folks, you can also use any word from the same word family; in this case, altruism is a noun.
Congratulations to the Glen Lake Middle School Cross Country team, which had a tremendous race in Mesick on Tuesday. JD Willey, Kian Murphy, and Rolli Charpentier were all awarded medals, while Xander Okerlund, Charlie Beck, Ayspen Tarker, and Kali Schettek all displayed tremendous burst of speed as they blew past their competitors at the finish. They race next in Lake City on Saturday. Wish them luck!!
